Cuddy rattling off all this crap and being amazed that House didn't question any of it.
Cuddy is trying to phrase what has dawned on her in terms that House can understand without realising that she's only confusing the issue further. (And on some level she's also trying to avoid voicing what she now knows, because how exactly do you tell House that he's being a gigantic moron?) House doesn't question it because he'd like relationships to be like baking recipes: add the right ingredients and you end up with chocolate chip cookies. Relationships would be so easy if you could influence them with the right tie — instead of baring your soul to all and sundry by plundering your best buddy's closet.
