"You do not bite a kid who is double your size and triple your weight," Pete informs him drily, wiping snot and tears off his face. "And you do not bite any kid whose parent is within sight, period.
A+ parenting there :)
This is one of my favourite chapters of the whole saga. The car trip from hell, watching Pete do fatherhood (every single bit of his day there rings true to me), Pete distracting Rachel so that Cuddy can have time to herself, Pete teaching Rachel to do wheelies, Pete's opinion on the picnic food, and of course the big romantic moment :) He can't promise Cuddy a conventional romance, or a life without drama, or to be the perfect partner but Pete and House together can give her the good parts of what they had before.
Greg House isn't all bad.
And this is true too - and Pete's final acceptance of being that person, with everything that entails. And if he can accept that then he can try with Cuddy again.
