I suspect that Cuddy had to learn herself that its okay not to be A++++ parent for every minute of a child's life. It's a revelation for Pete who seemed to think it was either be the most perfect dad ever or totally useless. Hopefully he'll think on it, as he apppears to be doing by firming up a job and schedule that will allow him more (and more settled) time with Joel.
As for the whole Pete - Cuddy - Wilson relationship one gets the impression that everyone is just muddling through the best they can (given the fairly unprecedented state of affairs in regards to Pete's memory loss). I guess maybe a threesome would just be too complicated to sustain even for these three people:)
