That sounds a bit like that one fic where House never got his medical license back after Mayfield and everybody just pretended that he was still the head of diagnostics and in a relationship with Cuddy. I seem to remember that one was pretty good ;)

Very good - however you did inflict a 'rusk' instead of a 'Zwieback' on poor Joel in this chapter so I'm taking points off for that :)
