And I cringed when House wiped out, having driven a motorcycle for a time myself in my younger days. I am glad they lucked out by hitting a car owned by a sweet guy
The incident is based on something that happened to me last year. 'Phil' was really as sweet as described; the only thing he didn't say was the bit about older men and powerful bikes. Unlike House, I didn't need to get back on my bike, though: the foot rest and the hand brake were trashed. Can't say I was unhappy about that ...

Switch to calling it a motorcycle when Wilson is talking or thinking,
Oh, frick! I'm caught somewhere between, "Oh, no! Have to edit the chapter on LJ, AO3 and ff.net!" and, "Thank goodness I didn't write a 100 k-word road trip, otherwise I'd have to go through each and every chapter to find stray 'motorbikes!" I think in future I'll write AUs set in the Middle Ages. That would take care of language issues and the medicine. But thanks for the information.
