My private backstory to that is that after the speed dating, Wilson and Cuddy soon realised that they're just not attracted to each other in a sexual way, although at first glance they seem compatible. What Wilson really needed was someone to talk to about dying and leaving House behind, and he felt better doing that with a total stranger than with someone who knew House.
