When I say that there is a female and a male viewpoint on this issue, I mean that I see a strong correlation between opinion held by a person and the person's gender. Checking correlation is something very easy to do numerically, and is often an exercise in vector calculus.
I didn't realize that to others the symmetry male/female could imply that both opinions are equally valid. I'll try and be more precise in the future.
